ABS bleeding?

I have a 1991 9kt and reccently replaced the brake lines to the front wheels and the line for the rear wheels (the first segment that runs to the master cylinder.) I also removed and replaced the supply line for the ABS pump.
Now that everything is reassembled, I am unable to bleed the rear brakes or get any fluid to exit from the bleeders. I had an assistant pump the brakes numerous times and also used a hand pump/bleeder to no avail.
I also am unable to get the ABS pump to operate. I am hoping that there is too much air in the sustem which is preventing the pump from running, but I am not sure.
Anyway, is there a special procedure to bleed the brakes based upon how much I had removed? Thanks in advance for any guidance.
