My 97 Saab 9000 CSE, STAGE 5 has a crank, no start problem. This seemed to start relatively soon after I changed the batteries on the key fob. Re the locking system; the rear passenger door auto lock has not worked for years. The ignition switch failed some time before this fault appeared and had to change out the ignition switch. It appeared to me that the drivers door external key lock “may have” been tampered with at some time before this started. Ironically, my son tried the fob reset method, turn the key to aux, press the door button 5 times, supposed to reset the immobilizer cit. right after that, the car started. I charged the battery overnight. Car restarted. I started it again later and moved it to a spot in the pole barn. Tried to start it again today to move it around. Same thing, crank no start. Tried the key fob rest again. Nothing.
So at this point, I’m not certain what part of the start circuit is failing. I would claim that the fuel pump isn’t pushing fuel.
Any ideas on testing, chasing, replacing would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Rick
