Battery Leakage, electrical leak somewhere How do you trace Posted by oregonsaab [Email] (#3688) [Profile/Gallery]

My Saab 9000 Turbo 1989 is always draining my battery when it sits. Very difficult to restart unless it has 12.5 Volts. When I replace with a new battery, it always starts. When it sits unused, 1 week to 2, the battery power drains. The power is there, usually down to 11.4 Volts and will not start, the key turns but does not push the starter. We have a new battery only 3 months old.
If we quick boost with a charger, it will then activate the starter. It will run fine, and I have a new alternator. If the car sits with battery attached, the power drains to the lower level. We added a quick shutoff on the negative, trying to save power when it sits.
I really need to find the "leakage" and even though I have a high amp better, 640-720 amps, it always loses some power, and will not start without a jump.
How do we track down the power loss leakage without dissambling the entire wiring system, harnessess, etc?
Any suggestions on this issue will be helpful. I am hoping to restore this vehicle as much as possible to its original glory. I bought it used 6 years ago, replaced broken axle, did breaks, had A/C recharged (used old AC/Compressor from my passed 1988 Saab. Replaced radiator.
Suggestions welcome to solve this non-starter issue.
