Ouch, that's a tough one. I did have the slave cylinder fail in this way on an '86 9000 Turbo. I posted about it at the time and it seemed to be a very rare failure mode, but it can happen. When I took it apart the clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing were all fine, so I just replaced the slave cylinder (and bearing while I was in there) and was good to go. A clutch job on a 9000 isn't fun, and I certainly understand wanting to do it right. It's scary the parts are getting quite so hard to find for consumable items like this. It'll be stressful waiting to see if the rebuilt or aftermarket slave cylinder works once you get it back together, that's for sure. Good luck!!!
