If you're lucky, the damage is bent valves which means head rebuilt. If you're not so lucky, you'll have punctured pistons on top of bent valves. The 2.3L motor is an interference engine.
My 94CS had the timing chain slipped on the crank because the sprocket sheared off the Woodruff key on the crankshaft at just over 100k. Rather than rebuilding the head, I replaced the motor.
