RESOLUTION: Erratic throttle problem solved

I wrote a couple of months ago about my 95 9000 Aero dropping
power as I cruised at 2700 rpm in high and climbed a hill (just straddling the line APC line between vacuum and boost).
Lots of suggestions were offered and tried. BPC, plugs, DI cassette, clean throttle - none did the trick.
The problem continued and was finally diagnosed by Jeff of Performance Automotive (a small indie Saab and Alfa shop in ABQ) as a bad vacuum check valve. On his advise I replaced the valve ($35) and associated solenoid ($88) and the problems vanished. Apparently, the throttle system is "run" off of vacuum and I was runing out. So simple when you understand. <grin>
The check valve (mfg by Hella) was slightly brown and the plastic brittle. I'd like a cheaper part to grab for a spare if anybody has a source. The solenoid was probably overkill, but I saved the old one, a duplicate of which also connects to the hooter valve.
Hope this helps somebody.
BTW, the next day I had some serious cold-start problems (stall when idling and switch into limp-home mode) which sorted themselves out pretty much as the day warmed up. I have no idea if this is related to this fix and a computer re-programming function or the fact that this (38 deg F) was the coldest this car had seen for many years. But it then proceeded to run home 300 mi @ 90 mph and 32 mpg so I'm not complaining.
Ahhh the challenges.
