FYI:
My 93 9kt used to have so-so boot. Checked all including the hooter and thought all were normal and assumed it was due to its old age.
Just put it a new hooter (turbo bypass valve, USD26 from Sabtory) and saw a major difference.
Also, found that the old hooter was in the twilight zone. It was not bad but certainly now tight.
The morale of the story: Replace the hooter in old car. It is cheap and easy to replace.
