T28? Posted by Karl [Email] (#161) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Karl) on Mon, 30 Oct 2000 15:21:17 In Reply to: Re: Interesting..., Bob, Sun, 29 Oct 2000 10:44:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi,
There are a number of upgrade options available. It depends a bit on how much "work" you want to perform. Upgrading to a Mitsu Td04 HL-15T is not a bolt-on upgrade (at least not to my knowledge), but you need to change some piping and perhaps need a flange to make it fit.
There is one option called a T28, which is a "mild" hybrid using the stock compressor housing. It's a straight bolt on for T25 cars, and is available with or without ball bearings. Not sure about upgrade cost, but check http://www.maptun.just.nu for an idea of what the cost might be. (Seems like 640 USD). With a matching software and exhaust you're looking at 260-270 hp.
Other options are T3/T4 hybrids, but these are essentially an older style turbo which will require ball bearings to provide the same fast spool up as a T25 or Mitsu TD04.
Good luck!
