Royal Purple Question for the RP Gurus

I know many of you 9Kers swear by RP, now the stupid question.
How long does your oil take to get 'very cruddy' looking?
I suspect that my turbo seals(on my 9-5) are going, or is it just the high detergent properties at work ? I have a new car so I doubt that engine crud is the culprit. Oil tests from RP indicated very low base number after only 5.5K miles, but they did not test for glycol. Next time I'll ask.
On my now traded in Infinity I30 the Mobil 1 was practically clear for well over 6K miles. Any comments? Thanks!
