As long as your thermostat is a Saab unit and installed properly with the air hole in the upper position, the system is self bleeding. As for your mixture ratio, you are off. The October 98 Motor Trend Care Care section featured the Cooling System. The optimum mixture ratio is 50/50. The protection at that mixture ratio is about -34 degrees F. Changing the ratio to 60 antifreez/40 water takes the freezing point to -60, but heat absorption drops to about 85% that of water. If more antifreeze is added the freezing point actually begins to rise again. You should also be using distilled water to mix with your antifreeze. Tap water may have minerals that can cause problems of mineral deposits and corrosion in engines with aluminum parts. Change to a 50/50 mixture and your heating should improve.
