Exactly my point! But all said and done that equals approx $7000 a year counting depreciation...= $1 a mile!
Seems most responses were from 2nd or probably third owners , infatuated by the 'prestige' of the Saab name to be realistic about the maintenance issues. The fellow selling the car seems a decent honest fellow, who took the trouble to present every single invoice incurred for his car (something few bother to do for obvious reasons)and the total was , in my opinion horrific.
Yes, he probably could have been a better driver, two footed can cause problems, and i'm cogniscent of that aspect, but at least there are no scratches on the paint, and the car is in very nice condition :-)
My concern is that other than the engine mounts, none of the expected 'problem' areas have yet been 'repaired' yet ie: heater core, DI cartridge, tramsmission, air con, harmonic balancer , or steering rack, all of which I , as the owner would normally expect to do sooner or later.
My basic question boils down to this.. Is this particular car a lemon or what??? Is every other 9000 similar or are other original owners hiding their repair invoices in shame?
Please tell me that that is the case as a low miles Jaguar is starting to look like a reasonable alternative (may or may not be more reliable, but it has such a lovely interior:-)
