i did this last summer to our 89 9000 cd turbo, tan interior, rear shelf carpet faded to hell and even disentegrated down to the green glue used to hold it on in some places. ugly. anyway, removed the rear seat and shelf, i forget exactly what bolts to remove, but they're pretty obvious. remove speakers, speaker grills, and other trim pieces. then i scraped the old carpeting off, in most of the places. the shelf is fragile so be careful not to damage it, too much. instead of carpeting, which i really didn't find anywhere that matched, i picked out some sueded cloth material at a fabric store, and used it and glued it on with spray adhesive. being just cloth, it was obviously easier to mold into all the curves, etc. anyway, it turned out pretty well. not perfect, but 1000X better than before. anyway, hope this helps.
