I think a start would be to clean up all the grounds which terminate (there's like 10 of them) behind the battery along with one of the main ground cables. Just clean them up with some scotch brite or sandpaper so the ring terminals are nice and shiny again. While you're at it, check both ends of the two main ground cables from the battery, they are easy to get to. Might as well clean the battery terminals themselves, also.

Still, the problem sounds a bit more extreme than a simple dirty ground to me, seeing how all those systems went out at once. And, that ground location is very well shielded from water, so I doubt that had an effect on the grounds (but it COULD have been a contributing factor to what you experienced).

These kind of problems are the most difficult to track down, the ones that are intermittant and seem to fix themselves. Good luck!
