Oil press. sender from VDO

Since the oil pressure sender 14mm X 1.5 from VDO is so expensive
I'll be using the most affordable double contact (safety low press. switch) that is 1/8 27NPT (part. no. 360009) and will use a spark plug to make an adapter. Threads of sp. plug are 14mm X 1.5 and once the porcelena is out you just have to drill the inside 11/32 (it is almost that size already) and then tap new threads.
A 1/8 27 NPT Tap is about 5$ and I just made an adapter in less than 15 minutes. Using a NGK number that ends with "ES" means the threaded part is 19 mm long (3/4") but if you want it to be 1/2" long use an NGK spark plug that end with "HS". (I did not take off the original oil press. switch yet hence the details about "ES"(3/4" long threads) and "HS" (1/2" long)).
And since the threads of VDO senders are tapered no risk of leak...save and use the spark plug washer as well and everything will be dry.
Doing things like this is fun to me !
That much more $ just for different threads...not for me Thanks.
Happy Saabing!
