I think the differences between these two brands is marginal. I've had
a 3" Magnaflow on my 9k since last November. It's seen as much road
salt here in MA as one would see anywhere, I would think. There's no
sign of early deterioration, yet. Oh, it's aluminized steel, not stainless, although Magnaflow does offer it in stainless. Anyway, the rear muffler doesn't contribute as much back pressure as the cat', which
is also 3". Unless one wants to spend about 3-400 bucks for a racing
cat', it didn't make any sense, to me, to be all that concerned with
with minor differences in the muffler cfm ratings. I'm sure the 3" MF
will more than sufficiently handle what ever exhaust pressures my car
will produce. To make this kind of decision, I'd use the Monte Carlo
approach: put a bullseye on the wall and throw a dart at it. If it hits
the bullseye, buy one brand over the other - your choice!
