Since I purchased another SPG & plan on putting the better of the systems in that, I haven't purchased Eclipse's new 16v balance deck because I am short on funds. It was also just released a few weeks ago :o)

Anyways, I use Adcom amps & in the past had to use their GFI-4600 which was a RCA to balanced line converter. Since eclipse cam out with the new deck I will be able to sell one of my gfi-4600's (other used in my 87 SPG) & will simply use the eclipse stuff. The Adcom amps are finicky amps but with the proper voltage inputs they are very hard to beat SQ wise w/o spending lots o $$$$. The Adcom amps came with the DIN type cables which run the balanced inputs & those wires will simply need to be modified to fit the eclipse deck.

When using a Adcom amp & not using balanced inputs, they sound like about any other good quality deck. BUT when they have balanced inputs it's an entire new sound. Extremely clean with a excellent sound stage even if the speakers are not in the ideal location!

I have 4 adcom amps 2 of which are 75x2, 1 is 75x4 & another is 40x4. The 40x4 is the original version & is rated to below .5 ohms :o) The newer ones are stable to 1 ohm & are built on the same chassis. They are clean but not loud! That's why in my 88 SPG I will be using the 75x4 am bridged to 2 channels each powering a 6.5 component set & one 75x2 amp powering either 1 or 2 subs. I haven't determined the size, quantity or manufacturer of the subs yet, Infinity perfect or Boston Pro are the 2 main ones I am considering :o)
