Do NOT use Bar's Leaks! ---Saab mechanic

The archives seem to recommend unconditionally---no ifs or buts---putting in Bar's Leaks as a preventative measure to delay or avoid the leaking heater core problem that I gather 9000s are known for. (At < 100k miles, I haven't smelled anything yet.)
With this in mind, I casually asked the mechanic at the dealership who was doing a service checkup on my car whether I should put in Bar's Leaks. To my surprise, he emphatically shook his head and said NO, not for my car (1994 turbo). On older models, OK. But for my car, according to him, while it would certainly work to plug up any emerging heater core leaks, I would be at increased risk for plugging up (even if only partially) the radiator, due to the much smaller passageways than earlier models. He also said something about the plastic parts leading into the radiator, that I didn't quite catch.
I didn't press him on actual cases of radiator clogging. Or if pellet vs. liquid might make a difference. Probably should have, but I didn't think of it at the time.
I know it's been categorically asserted that Bar's Leaks doesn't clog radiators. Maybe he doesn't know what he's talking about. Maybe he does. Who knows. He's worked on my car for many years now and seems quite knowledgeable about Saab cars.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass that on. I guess I'll procrastinate some more. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", right.
