Saabs are notorious for bad taillight grounds. A bad ground can cause all kinds of freaky things. Do the rear lights light when the headlights are on? If so, maybe it is a pedal switch failure.

As for the radio, there are 2 things to check. First, the connection where the radio itself fits into the sleeve like housing. Second, check the harness connectors between the radio sleeve and the wires coming out of the car. I would pull the radio sleeve out, stick the radio back into the sleeve and pound on it while the car is on to see if that induces the short. It could also be an internal problem in the radio itself.
