Yes the third line of that splitter goes through firewall and into the car. On my car the enry point was under the canister that contains the high pressure brake fluid. it makes a brief stop at a "Valve" just as your friend says, and from there it goes to the boost gauge. That valve would be the one that turns off the fuel pump at a certain boost pressure. The one that causes the windshield in the face if you should boost too much. If you look up in the area up where the peddles are (gas-brake-clutch) you should be able to see it. This valve has a screw in the middle and that screw is normally painted red. I can't remember the name of it right now, forgive me. I use to have these same problem as you, but I just spent the $40 and replaced everything with silicone a few months back and that cured my surging idle problem. Now the things been stalling on me and I'm trying to fix that as well. Good Luck, Phil
