no problem here with my original tranny ('88) and syncro with 100 more hp than stock (really). It's been making some other noises for a couple years, but the damn thing won't die and still shifts real smooth. Smooth is a relative term,,, it has a little 'balk'. Other parts of my shifter assembly are worn so there is a bit of slop up top.
