Suggestions on New Shocks, Poly Bushings, etc

Hello all,
It's time for new front-end suspension parts on my '89 CDT. I've got new inner and outer tie rods, but need to get new shocks and bushings.
What have you used for shocks and what do you recommend?
Also what are your opinions on poly bushings? My old rubber bushings are dead, and I was thinking the poly's might be nice.
Does anyone know if the spring tension in the McP struts on the CD is different than the hatchback? I have an '88 Turbo 5 dr parts car that I could get the struts and rear springs out of - I would like to stiffen up the "luxury" ride of the CD.
Thanks!
Jonathan
