hey man,,,, I bought a pair of the sportsmanXL 3 inch. The rear was a side in side out. Something like 6X9.5X20 size case. perfect faor a rear application,,,but I had to angle the front because my JT downpipe had a fit problem,,,it doesn't come out straight between the hangers. That was a piss-off, but in retrospect it may be a good thing, as it will force me to by a "super hi-flow" cat from spintech (only $109!) in the winter,,,or maybe a small race muffler:-) Because it's angled, I scraped it a few times on the crests of dirt roads and a couple times comming over high speedbumps. But it's 16gauge steel, pretty damn tough. COuld use that stuff for a skidplate !

Anyway, they aren't that quiet if you have a large tip. BUt still cruising on the highway,,,, near silent (as you can get I guess).

I can't see the flow being much different from the Sportsman series,,,I think there is only one more of those circle chambres inside.
