Burning out the bushing harmful to metal housing?

Based on this experience, would you suppose that increasing the thickness of the sway bar (e.g., SAS 1" sway bar kit, $295 for front and rear) would probably have very little additional benefit, probably mainly psychological benefit, not to mention extremely low benefit-to-cost ratio?

SAS web site says that "the rear sway bar reduces understeer; the front sway bar reduces...oversteer". If so, is reducing oversteer (the tendency of the REAR wheels to break loose, as I understand it) equivalent to re-introducing understeer (of the FRONT wheels), as your statement seems to be presuming? I would have thought not...

Now you are talking about the front suspension rear lower control arm bushing, not the rear sway bar bushing which is secured by a U-clamp, right. Will any size or temperature of blowtorch flame do? Unless one already has a blowtorch, would it probably be cheaper to just pay a shop to press the old bushing out? Might the blowtorch method be harmful to the metal housing? Change its strength-of-materials properties, maybe make it more likely to shatter under load, or some such bad consequence?
