Well, I don't know about Florida, but I do know that my 93 would freeze me out on the hottest August day in Virginia.

I suspect that something is not right. The first thing you need to do is to buy an ac thermometer and stick it in the center vent on "lo". When the car cools down (try driving for 10 min or so and then stop) you should see vent temps of 50 or below. If not, then something is wrong.

Next, open the hood and feel the ac lines next to the coolant resevoir. The big one should be covered with condensation and be very cold to touch. The small one should be really hot.

If the ac lines are as indicated and your vent temp is not below 50, you may indeed have an air mixture problem. A simple test which was suggested to me (but I have never tried) is to take 2 small blocks of wood and a pair of vise grips. put the wood blocks around one of the hoses going to the heater core and squeeze them together with the vise grips. If this causes the vent temp to drop, then you do have an air mixture problem.

If the air mix test doesn't result in a lower vent temp, then the problem is with the ac system. If you post more information about what has been done, someone might be able to identify other things you can try.
