almost assuredly a headlight relay. Here's a link to a great explanation of how to fix yourself if you want.

when the headlight relay going out, it is very hard to duplicate, it just kind of comes and goes. You'll be driving down the road and the high beams just come on (a tad embarrassing if you're in traffic) or you lose your high beams altogether.
