themselves it will have that wonderful burnt smell of toasted resistors and other critters on the board. Possibly see some darkened areas in the potting compound which is poured into the module. Have done a few cassettes with a 900 and these 9000's I have now and some of them really stink. Once thought I had severe wiring harness burning from the power of the smell but it was just coming out of the DI.
VERY IMPORTANT: keep plugs fresh and properly gapped. I got lazy and it bit me in the wallet.
