Dear Board Participants,

My 87 9000T is driving me crazy. There is an intermittant failure of some sort which causes vehicle to stop running. On restart attempt, engine spins but will not start. It seems as if it will fire briefly but then no signs of combustion after 2nd or 3rd try. If vehicle sits for a period, it will then start immediately and run fine. The failure has no rhyme nor reason to predict when it happens. Aside from this failure mode, engine and management systems seem to work as specified. Starting system seems to be okay, engine turns over but no combustion.

Yesterday, went to start and nothing, enigne turns over but no fire. Walk home, tried again today and it started on first try. This intermittant failure happens infrequently but it has left us stranded and is driving me crazy.

Does anyone have a similar experience and would they be kind enough to point us in the right direction. Fuel pump or ignition? Fuel pump fuse is intact, swapped out different pump relay but still intermittant failure . If Ari is out there, any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
