I installed a K&N into the fender well a while back. Along with the filter I did a ram air to get more air into the filter area. I was concerned about sucking a bunch of hot air into the filter, especially off the line, so I customized a ram air system. On the Aero there is an area on the front bumper/ground effects that is slotted, I took a large narrow funnel with a 6" diameter pour spout and taped it to the back of the bumper (you can't see it from the front of the car)I taped 6" duct to the funnel and pointed the open end at the K&N.
Does it make any difference? Can't say for certain, I think that I boost a little quicker, but all this is pretty subjective. Cool sound if nothing else.
good luck with the mod.
