have done that twice on my 88 9KS. First time it ran terrible for awhile, then like yours because the car was warm when washing, it dried out and worked fine.
Had a crank seal fail and it made a mess, so on cleanup I had a can of WD40 handy. After pressure washing, started car, ran terribly...just disconnected the AMM, hosed it out with WD40 and it started and ran perfect. Based on that experience I would say that's probably what happened to you as well.
