1992 900 CD, 245,000 kilometers, 2.0 liter 16valve engine. Here's the problem on my wife's car. The alternator died on the car last night leaving her stranded 5 miles away (the voltage slowly went from 12volts down to 5.5 and then the car quit). My plan was to take her battery out of her car and put it into mine and mine into her's and drive it back to the garage so I could further trouble-shoot it. I installed her battery into my car and it'd regained enough juice to start my car ('96 CSE). The battery eventually recharged, no problem there. Now comes the trouble! I installed my battery (which is relatively new) into her car and turned the alarm back on (I'd turned it off with the little key for the siren). Now the alarm goes off and the car won't start because of the starter interrupt circuitry in the alarm. I guess removing the battery did something, I don't know. I've spent all day trying to get the thing started. The remote control doesn't do anything to the alarm (it also has a new battery). Even if I turn off the alarm with the little key, it won't start, but the hazard lights just flash. How do I bypass the starter interrupt function? How do I get it started again?
