yes it is the turbo engine. and thanks for the advice and help and above all, patience!
What makes me believe it is the starter motor is this...
The last time i drove the car, everything was right as rain; drove it to the gas station, turned the car off, got gas and started it back up, i MAY have heard a whirring noise as i was driving off, like the noise you can hear from the radio of old cars sometimes LOL. I continued driving as i really didnt pay attention to the noise until after i had thought about it...about a mile down the road smoke came from the engine bay, no noises, no banging sounds nothing, just smoke. I pulled the car to the side of the road and if i remember, turned the ignition off. i got out of the car and backed away until the smoke settled, i lifted the hood and smelled a burning smell. i called a tow truck and he brought it home. on the way home, the tow truck guy said that what might have happened was the bendix gear in the starter motor had stuck engaged and the fly wheel had rotated the starter motor so high as to have burned the starter motor out and had gotten so hot that it started smoking...as i said, before i left the gas station, the car was right as rain, 100 percent
