Don't know what your title is supposed to mean, but US headlights are a VERY popular conversion for Swedish and other EU lands for the Saab 99. The 4-headlight (PAR-46 or 5 3/4" diameter) setup potentially offers the best lighting ever available on a Saab, prior to the 9-5, when coupled with the right lamps. When I had 99s, I had them fitted with headlamp inserts from Cibie, which took an H4 hi/lo, and an H1 pencil beam. Other than maybe fog lights, you didn't need any more auxiliary ("moose") lights on a 99 with the Cibie lamps. The pencil beam had a "reflective range" of over 8,000 feet!
Nice thing is, it's a straight plug-in. The grille, headlight "doors" and headlight mounts all come out of the EU car, and are replaced with the US components. The US headlamps mount in a bracket that has cups for both lamps, and uses the same plug that connects to the H4 bulb in the E-code lights.
If one has a 99 with US headlights, and uses cheapo sealed beams, one isn't getting half the performance that arrangement is capable of!
