Consider the two that I restored as examples. Both originally took over 1000 hours, I spent roughly $5k-$6k for new parts, and I did 99% of the work myself. Neither had any interior work done other than a dash pad or headliner.
Would you have paid $35k for that black 75EMS that I sold for $10k?
If I sold the 73, I'd probably try to get $10k for it as well, and I've added to the hours and parts I have bought since it was first shown in 2002.
If a company invested that time and money into a car, with their higher overhead, they wouldn't make enough to make it worthwhile(unless of course they can reduce hours by being more efficient)
