Repairing a 1978 Saab 99 Turbo and have a question about the cooling fans mounted in front of the radiators. The turbos have two fans mounted and they both work. One fan is operated by a switch on the dashboard. The other fan, I assume, is suppose to come on when the car starts yet it does not. I replaced the thermoswitch mounted on the side of the radiator. When I short the thermoswitch, the fan that is controlled by the dashboard switch comes on only, not both fans. I am not sure if the radiator fan relay is good. For a quick fix, couldn't I just wire the non-working fan wires into the wires that could into the thermoswitch? This way the dashboard switch can turn both fans on? Would be nice if I had a radiator fan relay that I knew was definitely good. Any advice would be helpful.
