running smooth...? i pulled the top of the distributor and cleaned the contacts from the coil and four pronged pickup. put it back together and let it run for a few minutes, then it started running smooth.
i have to think this IS a fuel delivery problem so i looked under the gas tank at the accumulator, it show major rust. the outer casing has a hole in it! no leaks.
if i test it for rest pressure and it passes, does it warrant replacement anyway?
can a Mercedes or Volvo accumulator be used?
i have already replaced an o-ring in the fuel pump and checked the input of the fuel distributor for goo, also the long needle looking set screw o-rings are replaced in the fuel distributor.
thanks for your help!
