Can you verify if stock "B" motor is indeed a NON TURBO 8.7 or 9.1 high compression? If a turbo/exhaust was added to a non turbo use very low boost 4-6 lbs.
The 99 turbo with low compression pistons was set to just a maximum of 8 lb boost. In 1980 they added a pressure retard (vacuum) advance unit to the distributor. Turbo distributors has much less centrifugal advance too. The 99T cam was different in that the exhaust opened at an advanced opening rate to assist with turbo lag.
