Replacing simulated wood with real wood

My control switch contact paper was in pretty bad shape and could not really be repaired. I got a thin piece of real walnut (pre-gummed) and tested it out on a spare center piece. I used a banding iron to activate the glue and then a very sharp x-acto knife to cut the holes. I used 600 grit sand paper and linseed oil to finish. When I do the actual pieces I'll use up to 1800 grit and finish with linseed oil and wax.
