Fuel Pump fuse blowing Posted by Gary Stottler [Email] (#1463) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gary Stottler) on Tue, 21 May 2013 09:04:23 In Reply to: about the fuse --, jimmy, Tue, 21 May 2013 08:58:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The fuse blowing is a result of an increasing level of current flowing through the circuit. All of the suggestions about checking various parts of the wiring are good; any place where corrosion is causing high resistance can increase the current flow. Also, the pump itself will start to increase it's current requirement due to increasing internal resistance as a precursor to it's eventual failure due to sticking brushes or worn commutator. So, you may want to carry a spare pump with you :-)
