Oh, the other wrinkle to this is that the early 99 ATE rear calipers are basically interchangable with several years of Volkswagen type 3 front calipers (also ATE). Except the VW ones are metric. And the VW ones are probably a lot easier to find. So I had an idea of maybe throwing those on the back, with metric thread brake lines, and generic metric flex lines (which I already got from Auto Zone.
I have not actually tried the VW brakes on the Saab, I just know that my dad worked on those VW.s and eventually I had a box full of calipers, some saab and some VW and the only way to tell the difference between them was to screw different connectors into the pipe. They were indentical in every dimension. Sometimes you could tell the VW ones because instead of a hard line screwing into them, the flex line went right into the caliper.
