I would buy it.... Posted by DougM [Email] (#211) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DougM) on Thu, 8 Sep 2016 18:53:29 In Reply to: 1974 99, Ceasar, Thu, 8 Sep 2016 06:51:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I bought a '74EMS sometime around 1986 and daily drove it for years before it went into the garage for rust repair in 1994. It sat on blocks until 2001 when I found a '73E with an almost rust free body, so I gutted the 74 and chopped it up into pieces. A majority of the 74 parts are now in the 73 body, including the fuel injection components. So, 30 years later those parts are still reliable, though it is far from a daily driver anymore. I've also amassed a hoard of early 99 parts to keep it going well into the future.
If you are not mechanically or electrically inclined, or are not familiar with early 99's, then it might not be the car for you.
