Hi All,
I've been really enjoying the '80 99 Turbo this late summer. It's been running great but in the back of my mind I've been wondering "what will need attention next"? Well, my question was answered today when I pulled into the driveway and shifted my weight to roll up the passenger side window. The seat bottom collapsed under me and I dropped about 2 inches. Damn. The gentleman I bought the car from a few years ago had replaced the seat bottom support as the original one had also collapsed. Looks like a sling made out of canvas with bonded rubber sections on both sides and it's the rubber portion that tears and allows the seat bottom to collapse. It looks like there is a retrofit kit that replaces the canvas sling with a more conventional metal frame with suspension springs on the perimeter. Has anyone here done this?
John
