Stall while driving, fuel pump?? Posted by Jawerdna [Email] |
I’ve got a 78 99L, finally brought it out of winter storage and it started right up. I let it warm up to normal running temp then went for a drive. Before I got tot the end of the block, it died and wouldn’t restart right away. I waited about 12-15 minutes and it started normally again so I could get it back to the garage. Is this a sign of the fuel pump or relay dying? Doesn’t feel like ignition system issues I’ve seen before so I’m stumped.
When it died, it was abrupt as if I’d turn the key to the off position. Any ideas on where to start hunting for the cause? Car has never had reliability issues before. Just 65k miles and the pump is likely original.
If fuel pump is the issue, where can I find one? Quick Look at the usual sites yielded nothing.
Thanks in advance for ideas!
