Another H Motor conversion questions: Motor Mounts Posted by MC [Email] |
I'm in the the midst of converting '78 99 over to H-motor B202 Turbo with T5.
Ready to start test fitting this engine and I thought I'd anticipated most of the obvious run arounds; firewall space provisions, etc...
My issue now is pertaining to the engine mounts and brackets. Thinking that I was going to be able to transfer the B-motor brackets over to the B202 turbo(H) and drop the whole thing on the old B solid mounts. ...not a direct fit, so it seems.
My question for the Corp here is: Would I be stuck having to exchange for the H-motor/B202 solid mounts and brackets or is there some plausible mix & match of the brackets that I might be able to do to set this thing in on the original 99 mounts?
I have tried a combination of the original B-motor brackets and some existing H-motor brackets left over from a few parted out cars, but there is no positive match yet. I am currently missing the B202 solid mount brackets (left and right), which may have the missing key/s.
Set up is non-P/S, Non-A/C.
Fabrication to modify the pieces I do have is a possible option and does not intimidate me at all. Just trying to avoid hacking anything up before I get some general insight and wisdom on the matter.
Cheers. -MC
