Thorir-
I dont really believe the location of the stock airbox is likely to draw very much hot air from the engine bay... Most of the heat is on the other side of the bay, and it just is not that much hotter around the box. Besides, I have the high beam and it's mounting cup removed from the driver's side allowing direct airflow to the box. Nevermind the intercooler in it's way =). Anyway, I know the headlights are not an area of particulary high pressure, but it is better than nothing. I have seen a modification to the airbox that was really quite simple, although it wont work on a car with the 900 intercooler mounted, or with a big front airdam: There is a big hole not far in front of the airbox in the body's sheetmetal. You could mount some ducting or a air scoop under the car, directing flow into that hole, and then provide a shroud on the inside of the engine bay around the airbox. Might get in the way of the brake cooling ducts I am hoping to put in my 99!
