As far as I know you'd need a chain drive tranny 78-93 4sp or 5sp to fit a 16v. Your best bet it to find a good 16v mated to a 5 speed. The 16v engine is not a direct fit, but works. You'll need to fabricate motor mountings, alter the firewall and find some different pullies. Search the board for more info. I '80 900 8v Turbo B with a 5 speed is a direct fit, if you can find one. I'd recommend a 5 sp if you plan to keep the power under 225 hp. Engine noise on a 99 goes right through the un-sound-insulated firewall and the hole for the vent fan. The 5 sp will keep the rpm closer to 3k on the highway.
