Ludi,
The ground for the instruments is at the fuse box. Clean those up first. You can also clean up the ground on the fuel level sender. The two wires on top of the sender are the warning light and the gauge. On the metal hold down ring there is a ground attachment. This tends to get corroded quite easily in wet weather. I am constantly fussing with mine in the Northwet.
The temp gauge I don't know about. Never had that problem. Let me know if you want to try another one. I have plenty of those. You are welcome to one of mine if you want to switch it out.
