my number 1 concern was rust, the car I bought had NONE, it is 100% original paint in pretty good shape, had been undercoated when new, so I have a lot of clean-up to do.
still, rust anywhere is a big deal, especially a car from maine.
it has a 5 speed, so the tranny is not the original 4 speed, make sure it is quiet and smooth, as none of the 5 speed gearboxes were too strong, find out what car donated the trans, after '89 or 90 some significant improvements were made.
original, correct interiors are hard to find, a real perfect match to the upholstery is very tough.
front spoilers are hard to find in good shape, and front windshields cannot be found any longer, at least here in the US.
check compression on the motor, cyl 4 tends to burn the exhaust valve, and check for rust in the engine compartment, but also leaks and other messes after all these years.
at the price they are looking for, it could be a wonderful driver.
good luck and enjoy.
