Rusted seat frames? Posted by Ed_F [Email] (#1000) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ed_F) on Fri, 5 Oct 2007 14:38:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have recently started tearing apart my "visually solid" 74 EMS only to discover rust on the inner rocker under the carpet on the passenger side(along with surface on the passenger side pans) and the drivers seat frame. The rocker(or door sill) completely rusted through directly under the plastic sill plate.
The seat frame is so rotten that the outer steel structure started collapsing/crumbling near the seatbelt latch. Did this car spend time under water??? The trunk is solid as is the outer rockers and inner rocker/sill on the driver side. To me this is an odd rust patern. Fender wells are solid and even the roof has no rust where the vinyl once was.
Also, can I use the rocker section from a 900?
