wow, sooo much faster than last time, the old motor had at least 255,000 miles on it. bilstein hd's and 9000 brakes make a huge difference too. Went the hockey puck motor mount route, very noisy, i'm going to back off on the bolts a little and see if that quiets things down a bit. The fabricated pass. side bracket sits a bit low, and i'm thinking that the motor may be sitting on some metal somewhere as the pucks seem to be a little shorter than the stock mounts, but the shifting is very crisp. The chain drive cover experiment seems to be a failure, i can hear a fair amount of chain noise-although i'm wondering if the new motor mounts are to blame? Anyways, i would much rather have that bearing, so it'll be coming out again! definitely have a tab welded, although jb weld is a modern miracle, cannot believe that it's strong enough for that application! The real point this time around was all the wiring/plumbing and suspension stuff which took a long time. I'll have to wait til i get the cover done until i hook up the apc and water injection i installed, as it is it pulls very well, probably put off plans for the intercooler for a while... thanks to saabnet and all the posters who do the 16vt 99 thing!
