Hello- I've been a 95/96 driver since the early 1970's, with a brief foray into the 99 world with a '72 99. Great car; it gave it's life for me and my passenger in an accident (a volvo spun out and hit us). But the fuel injection was a bother, and the transmission went bad..probably due to harsh driving and poor care.
Anyway, I've gotten much more adept at working on my 95 and 96 and am looking at a good-shape
1971 99e. The guy says he has a manifold to allow installation of a carb - he mentioned Stromberg, but I've got a Weber 34 ICH from my v4 stuff.
Any chance to use the weber?
Does it work to go to carb after injection? Is it just replace manifold, fuel pump, carb, linkage?
My goal is to use this as a light-duty daily driver. Sane or other? I'm not interested in going fast. I want simplicity so even I can work on it, safety and decent gas mileage.
Thanks for you advice.
